Utricularia prehensilis (S of Lumata, COD)
|
A terrestrial bladderwort native to tropical and southern Africa, characterized by its long, strap-shaped green leaves. Its distinguishing feature is the twining flower stalk (the species name means "climbing" or "grasping") which spirals around thin supports to hold up its medium-sized, bright yellow flowers that feature a prominent inflated palate. This species prefers lower light and will invade neighbor pots if there are drainage holes. This specific form is from the South of Lumata in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Plants may or may not be flowering at the time of purchase. You will receive a 1" plug of this plant.
Please note this plant will ship bare root via USPS Priority Mail. Heat packs are not automatically included. I offer a 72 and 96 hour heat pack as additions. Please make sure to add one of these options before completing your purchase to be eligible for live arrival guarantee if your day time temperatures are below 45°F.
