Utricularia involvens is a medium to large terrestrial bladderwort endemic to Southeast Asia, specifically found in the Malay Peninsula, Thailand, Myanmar, parts of Indochina, and the Northern Territory in Australia. It inhabits lowland to montane wet grasslands, marshes, and seasonal swamps, often found scrambling or climbing through surrounding vegetation in sandy or peaty soils at low altitudes except in Malaysia where it is found at altitudes of up to 900 m. This species will be looking for something to wrap its insanely-long inflorescences against, so be prepared to have some bamboo skewers, 3d printed stakes, etc. to help support it. The inflorescences can easily top 12" tall. Plants may or may not be flowering at the time of purchase. You will receive a 1" plug of this plant.

Seeds from the Utricularia genus are extremely small, ranging between 0.25 and 1mm. Germination can take anywhere from 7-180 days, but generally occur within the first two months under optimal conditions. Cold stratification is not needed. I recommend sowing on a mix of washed peat moss and keep them in high humidity until they sprout.

You will receive either an entire pod, or 20 seeds, whichever is greater. Seeds are wrapped in an origami paper envelope and put into a small plastic baggie. Please be careful when opening the packets as the seeds are extremely small (see photo(s)) Seeds are shipped in a padded, tracked envelope without a heat pack. I do not offer untracked shipping for seeds at this time.

Any photos of plants are representative of what a mature plant/leaves/flower, etc. may look like for reference only. Pictures of seeds are to show the size of seeds from this species. Any photos of seeds are representative of what you will receive and they are not exact seeds you will receive.
