Drosera x badgerupii gemmae 15 count
Drosera × badgerupii is a natural pygmy sundew hybrid, of D. micra and D. patens, from southwestern Western Australia, occurring in the Badgerup and adjoining Swan Coastal Plain regions. It grows in winter-wet sandy heathlands where both parent species overlap, forming compact rosettes that adopt intermediate traits. It is distinguished from nearby pygmy species by its combination of larger size, upright petioles, and soft pink flowers, which clearly show hybrid influence.
This offer includes a packet of 15 gemmae per order. Each gemmae will form one individual plant. Gemmae are wrapped in a wet paper towel and placed into a into a small plastic baggie to maintain humidity. Some of them may sprout in transit, this is normal. Gemmae are tiny ranging between 0.25 and 3mm. I recommend using a small pair of tweezers or a toothpick to place them gently on top of a mixture of 1:1 peat moss and quartz sand. New plantlets typically sprout within 3-10 days. Do not let them dry out until the new plants are established. Higher humidity can help prevent them from drying out. Please be careful when opening the packets as the gemmae are extremely small (see photo(s)) and will often stick to your fingers.
Gemmae are shipped in a padded, tracked envelope without a heat pack. Please add a heat pack if your night time temperatures are below 40F. I cannot guarantee live arrival of gemmae if your temperatures are too low and a heat pack was not included. I do not offer untracked shipping for gemmae at this time.
