Drosera neocaledonica
|
Drosera neocaledonica is a rosetted perennial sundew endemic to New Caledonia, where it grows in wet sandy soils, lateritic substrates, and seepage areas in open scrub and montane habitats. It forms flat, stemless rosettes of spatulate green to reddish leaves and produces small white to pale pink flowers. You will receive a plant roughly 0.75-1.25" in diameter.
As always, plants can look different with different amounts of light. The plants you receive may be a slightly different color than what is shown, either more colorful or more green depending on a variety of factors. Plants are between 1-1.5" in diameter. Care for this carnivorous plant is simple. I recommend using a mix of 1:1 long fiber sphagnum moss to perlite, using the tray method to keep the substrate constantly wet with water under 50 PPM TDS. I use a 14 hour photoperiod at about 250 PPFD, but you can use a natural photoperiod or anywhere from 10-16 hours. I normally spray the leaves with 1,000-2,500PPM MaxSea fertilizer weekly, or as often as I remember.
Please note this plant will ship potted via USPS Priority Mail. Heat packs are not automatically included. I offer a 72 and 96 hour heat pack as additions. Please make sure to add one of these options before completing your purchase to be eligible for live arrival guarantee if your day time temperatures are below 45°F.
