Endemic to the sandstone plateaus of the Guiana Highlands in Venezuela, Guyana, and Brazil, this tropical sundew grows terrestrially in wet, peaty or sandy soils along seepages and mossy ledges. It forms compact rosettes of red to orange leaves covered in glistening tentacles and produces delicate pink to white flowers on slender scapes, adding a vibrant touch to highland collections. It is differentiated from D. felix, its closest relative, primarily by the longer flower stem (shorter) and more flowers 2-8 (1-2) compared to D. felix (D. felix features in parenthesis).

Seeds from the Drosera genus are extremely small, ranging between 0.25 and 3mm. Germination can take anywhere from 7-180 days, but generally occur within the first two weeks under optimal conditions. Cold stratification is not needed. I recommend sowing on a mix of washed peat moss and keep them in high humidity until they sprout.

This offer includes a packet of 15+ seeds per order. Seeds are wrapped in an origami paper envelope and put into a small plastic baggie. Please be careful when opening the packets as the seeds are extremely small (see photo(s)) Seeds are shipped in a padded, tracked envelope without a heat pack. I do not offer untracked shipping for seeds at this time.
