Drosera graomogolensis (Botumirim, Minas Gerais, BRA)
|
Drosera graomogolensis is a Brazilian highland species endemic to, you guessed it, the Grão Mogol area within the state of Minas Gerais, where it grows terrestrially in wet, quartz-sand campos rupestres and seepage slopes. It is a stem-forming sundew, producing a tall, woody stem topped with a tight rosette of long, narrow, reddish leaves covered in dense tentacles. The flowers are bright pink to magenta and rise well above the plant on tall scapes. This form is from Boumirim, a relatively new location in the hobby. These are medium-sized plants, you can expect between 1.5"-2" in diameter.
Care for this carnivorous plant is simple. I recommend using a mix of 1:1 long fiber sphagnum moss to perlite, using the tray method to keep the substrate constantly wet with water under 50 PPM TDS. I use a 14 hour photoperiod at about 250 PPFD, but you can use a natural photoperiod or anywhere from 10-16 hours. I normally spray the leaves with 1,000-2,500PPM MaxSea fertilizer weekly, or as often as I remember.
Please note this plant will ship potted via USPS Priority Mail. Heat packs are not automatically included. I offer a 72 and 96 hour heat pack as additions. Please make sure to add one of these options before completing your purchase to be eligible for live arrival guarantee if your day time temperatures are below 45°F.
