Endemic to the tepuis of the Guiana Highlands in Venezuela and Guyana, this highland species grows terrestrially on mossy sandstone ledges and seepages. It forms compact rosettes of bright orange to red leaves and bears small, vivid pink to purple flowers, flourishing in cool, humid, high-light environments. Fully grown it is less than an inch in diameter. This is one of the smallest sundews from South America, and relatively easy for South American sundews, but still a moderate level of difficulty when compared to the entire genus.

Care for this carnivorous plant is simple. I recommend using a mix of 1:1 long fiber sphagnum moss to perlite, using the tray method to keep the substrate constantly wet with water under 50 PPM TDS. I use a 14 hour photoperiod at about 250 PPFD, but you can use a natural photoperiod or anywhere from 10-16 hours. I normally spray the leaves with 1,000-2,500PPM MaxSea fertilizer weekly, or as often as I remember.

Please note this plant will ship potted via USPS Priority Mail. Heat packs are not automatically included. I offer a 72 and 96 hour heat pack as additions. Please make sure to add one of these options before completing your purchase to be eligible for live arrival guarantee if your day time temperatures are below 45°F.
