Native to the southeastern United States, the Caribbean, Central America, northern South America, and then reappearing in the southern states of Brazil, this rosetted sundew is quite variable in both its morphology and its habitats. This species is most similar to Drosera esmeraldae, where it can be difficult to distinguish between the two when they are not flowering. This Ubiquitous American sundew grows in a variety of habitats, including wet, sandy soils of savannas, bogs, and seasonally moist open ground, roadside ditches, and next to sidewalks. It forms flat, stemless rosettes of spoon-shaped red to green leaves and produces delicate pink to lavender flowers, distinguishing it from other small North American rosetted species.

Seeds from the Drosera genus are extremely small, ranging between 0.25 and 3mm. Germination can take anywhere from 7-180 days, but generally occur within the first two weeks under optimal conditions. Cold stratification is not needed. I recommend sowing on a mix of washed peat moss and keep them in high humidity until they sprout.

This offer includes a packet of 50+ seeds per order. Seeds are wrapped in an origami paper envelope and put into a small plastic baggie. Please be careful when opening the packets as the seeds are extremely small (see photo(s)) Seeds are shipped in a padded, tracked envelope without a heat pack. I do not offer untracked shipping for seeds at this time.
