Drosera capensis (Betty's Bay, ZAF) seeds
Native to the Cape region of South Africa (hence, the name), this hardy and highly adaptable sundew is a terrestrial species often grows in seepages or sandy, nutrient-poor soils kept consistently moist. It forms elegant rosettes of long, dew-covered leaves and bears tall stalks of numerous pink flowers. It's truly one of the easiest and most rewarding carnivorous plants to grow. This form grows a bit shorter, has redder leaves (under intense light), and much hairier than most forms of D. capensis.
Seeds from the Drosera genus are extremely small, ranging between 0.25 and 3mm. Germination can take anywhere from 7-180 days, but generally occur within the first two weeks under optimal conditions. Cold stratification is not needed. I recommend sowing on a mix of washed peat moss and keep them in high humidity until they sprout.
This offer includes a packet of 50+ seeds per order. Seeds are wrapped in an origami paper envelope and put into a small plastic baggie. Please be careful when opening the packets as the seeds are extremely small (see photo(s)) Seeds are shipped in a padded, tracked envelope without a heat pack. I do not offer untracked shipping for seeds at this time.
Any photos of plants are representative of what a mature plant/leaves/flower, etc. may look like for reference only. Pictures of seeds are to show the size of seeds from this species. Any photos of seeds are representative of what you will receive and they are not exact seeds you will receive.
