This registered cultivar, a temperate Drosera, is a hybrid between D. filiformis and D. tracyi that was created by Joe Mazrimas, one of the founders of the ICPS, in 1973. It has the size and vigor of D. tracyi, and more of the color from D. filiformis. As no propagation method is listed from the registration of the cultivar, the offspring of self-pollinated flowers should be called 'California Sunset' x self, not 'California Sunset', as the seeds will not produce the exact same plant. Photos show the parent plant.

Seeds from the Drosera genus are extremely small, ranging between 0.25 and 3mm. Germination can take anywhere from 7-180 days, but generally occur within the first two weeks under optimal conditions. Cold stratification will result in better germination, but it is not required in my experience. I recommend sowing on a mix of washed peat moss and keep them in high humidity until they sprout.

This offer includes a packet of 50+ seeds per order. Seeds are wrapped in an origami paper envelope and put into a small plastic baggie. Please be careful when opening the packets as the seeds are extremely small (see photo(s)) Seeds are shipped in a padded, tracked envelope without a heat pack. I do not offer untracked shipping for seeds at this time.

Any photos of plants are representative of what a mature plant/leaves/flower, etc. may look like for reference only. Pictures of seeds are to show the size of seeds from this species. Any photos of seeds are representative of what you will receive and they are not exact seeds you will receive.
