Utricularia uniflora (Lithgow, NSW, AUS) seeds
Native to southeastern Australia, this is an easy terrestrial or subaquatic species that thrives in seasonally wet sand or moss near bogs and seepages. It produces elegant pale lavender to violet flowers, often with a white upper lip and a soft yellow patch on the lower lobe, making it one of the most striking small bladderworts in cultivation. This form of Utricularia uniflora is has a soft white-lavender flower with a thin, sharply defined purple band and a shorter, lighter spur. The darker form is richer purple overall, with a broader diffuse band around the palate and a fuller, rounder lower lip. Plants may or may not be flowering at the time of purchase. You will receive a 1" plug of this Utricularia.
Seeds from the Utricularia genus are extremely small, ranging between 0.25 and 1mm. Germination can take anywhere from 7-180 days, but generally occur within the first two months under optimal conditions. Cold stratification is not needed. I recommend sowing on a mix of washed peat moss and keep them in high humidity until they sprout.
You will receive either an entire pod, or 20 seeds, whichever is greater. Seeds are wrapped in an origami paper envelope and put into a small plastic baggie. Please be careful when opening the packets as the seeds are extremely small (see photo(s)) Seeds are shipped in a padded, tracked envelope without a heat pack. I do not offer untracked shipping for seeds at this time.
