Utricularia nephrophylla "pink flower"
|
Endemic to SE Brazil, this species is typically lithophytic on constantly wet, often vertical rocks in montane forests (functionally a terrestrial/lithophyte). This form has a pink flower rather than the more common white flowered form. Originally purchased from BCP. Plants may or may not be flowering at the time of purchase. You will receive a 1" plug of this Utricularia.
Care for this carnivorous plant is simple. I recommend using a mix of 1:1 peat moss to perlite, or live sphagnum moss. I keep the substrate moist with water that is 50 PPM TDS or less, but not wet. I use a 14 hour photoperiod at about 250 PPFD, but you can use a natural photoperiod or anywhere from 10-16 hours. I fertilize the leaves once a week with 2,500 PPM MaxSea fertilizer.
Please note this plant will ship bare root via USPS Priority Mail. Heat packs are not automatically included. I offer a 72 and 96 hour heat pack as additions. Please make sure to add one of these options before completing your purchase to be eligible for live arrival guarantee if your day time temperatures are below 55°F.
