Drosera venusta is endemic to South Africa, where it grows in seepages and near streams, often found growing along side Drosera aliciae, though this one is found much less frequently. It has semi-erect leaves and has appendages at both ends of the seeds. This species can sometimes be confused for Drosera natalensis or Drosera aliciae when the plants are small or not getting enough light. The more accurate label for this plant would be (Outeniqua Mtns between George and Oudtshoorn, ZAF).

Seeds from the Drosera genus are extremely small, ranging between 0.25 and 3mm. Germination can take anywhere from 7-180 days, but generally occur within the first two weeks under optimal conditions. Cold stratification is not needed. I recommend sowing on a mix of washed peat moss and keep them in high humidity until they sprout.

This offer includes a packet of 25+ seeds per order. Seeds are wrapped in an origami paper envelope and put into a small plastic baggie. Please be careful when opening the packets as the seeds are extremely small (see photo(s)) Seeds are shipped in a padded, tracked envelope without a heat pack. I do not offer untracked shipping for seeds at this time.

Any photos of plants are representative of what a mature plant/leaves/flower, etc. may look like for reference only. Pictures of seeds are to show the size of seeds from this species. Any photos of seeds are representative of what you will receive and they are not exact seeds you will receive.
