Drosera tracyi is a large, perennial, erect-leaved sundew endemic to the Gulf Coast of the United States, specifically found in the coastal plains of southeast Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. It is a specialist of seepage bogs, wet pine savannas, and ditch margins, where it thrives in waterlogged, acidic, sandy-peat soils that are frequently subjected to wildfire. This species is distinguished by its lack of the red anthocyanin pigments common in Drosera filiformis. It also grows larger than Drosera filiformis.

Care for this carnivorous plant is simple. I recommend using a mix of 1:1 peat moss to perlite, using the tray method to keep the substrate constantly wet with water under 50 PPM TDS. I grow them outdoors in zone 8a in full sun, year-round. I don't fertilize these plants at all as they catch plenty of bugs on their own.

Please note this plant will ship potted via USPS Priority Mail. Heat packs are not automatically included. I offer a 72 and 96 hour heat pack as additions. If purchasing between November and February you will receive a dormant hibernaculum. If you order in March the plants will just be waking up. April-October plants will be 2-4" in height.

Any photos of plants are representative of what a mature plant/leaves/flower, etc. may look like for reference only. Pictures of seeds are to show the size of seeds from this species. Any photos of seeds are representative of what you will receive and they are not exact seeds you will receive. You will receive a plant at least 3-4" tall or 3-4" in diameter when not dormant.
