Native to Japan, this stunning rosetted sundew is a natural hybrid, of rotundifolia and spatulata, species, makes it highly adaptable and one of the easiest carnivorous plants to grow. It forms a colorful, low-profile rosette of rounded, dew-covered leaves that turn a beautiful bright red under strong light. It is an extremely fast grower that easily forms clumps and is perfect for the beginner to catch tons of gnats! This form is extremely small compared to the standard tokaiensis in cultivation, and produces short scapes with 1-2 flowers per inflorescence. As such, seed packets will be small and infrequent.

Seeds from the Drosera genus are extremely small, ranging between 0.25 and 3mm. Germination can take anywhere from 7-180 days, but generally occur within the first two weeks under optimal conditions. Cold stratification is not needed. I recommend sowing on a mix of washed peat moss and keep them in high humidity until they sprout.

This offer includes a packet of 15+ seeds per order. Seeds are wrapped in an origami paper envelope and put into a small plastic baggie. Please be careful when opening the packets as the seeds are extremely small (see photo(s)) Seeds are shipped in a padded, tracked envelope without a heat pack. I do not offer untracked shipping for seeds at this time.
