Drosera prolifera seeds 10+
One of the four (previously three) Queensland sisters, Drosera prolifera is endemic to Queensland, Australia and found about 150km north of where Drosera adelae grows. This species has a narrow range of the eastern side of Thornton's Peak near Cape Tribulation ranging from 0-1300m elevation, often found in canyons. This species can tolerate more heat than Drosera schizandra and is a perfect terrarium plant. I grow it in several of my Geosesarma sp. vivariums. This species does best as an understory plant, not getting significant direct sun, and can burn easier than most sundews from strong foliar feeding.
Seeds from the Drosera genus are extremely small, ranging between 0.25 and 3mm. Germination can take anywhere from 7-180 days, but generally occur within the first two weeks under optimal conditions. Cold stratification is not needed. I recommend sowing on a mix of washed peat moss and keep them in high humidity until they sprout.
This offer includes a packet of 10+ seeds per order. Seeds are wrapped in an origami paper envelope and put into a small plastic baggie. Please be careful when opening the packets as the seeds are extremely small (see photo(s)) Seeds are shipped in a padded, tracked envelope without a heat pack. I do not offer untracked shipping for seeds at this time.
Any photos of plants are representative of what a mature plant/leaves/flower, etc. may look like for reference only. Pictures of seeds are to show the size of seeds from this species. Any photos of seeds are representative of what you will receive and they are not exact seeds you will receive.
