Drosera natalensis is a South African sundew native to KwaZulu-Natal (formerly known simply as Natal) it also can be found in Eswaniti, Leotho, Madagascar, and Zimbabwe, where it grows terrestrially in seasonally wet, sandy or peaty soils along seeps, marsh edges, and streambanks. It is a variable species, although generally it forms flat rosettes of broad, reddish-green leaves with a distinct central vein and copious red tentacles. The flowers are soft pink to magenta and are produced on slender, upright scapes throughout the warmer months.

Care for this carnivorous plant is simple. I recommend using a mix of 1:1 peat moss to perlite, using the tray method to keep the substrate constantly wet with water under 50 PPM TDS. I use a 14 hour photoperiod at about 250 PPFD, but you can use a natural photoperiod or anywhere from 10-16 hours. I normally spray the leaves with 1,000-2,500PPM MaxSea fertilizer weekly, or as often as I remember.

Please note this plant will ship potted via USPS Priority Mail. Heat packs are not automatically included. I offer a 72 and 96 hour heat pack as additions. Please make sure to add one of these options before completing your purchase to be eligible for live arrival guarantee if your day time temperatures are below 50°F.
