Drosera latifolia is a South American species found mainly in southeastern Brazil, occurring terrestrially in wet, sandy or peaty soils of grasslands, seepage areas, and highland meadows. It is a stem-forming sundew, producing an upright stem topped with a loose rosette of broad, paddle-shaped leaves that turn red in strong light. The flowers are pink to light magenta and are borne on tall, slender scapes during the growing season. This form of Drosera latifolia are from Serra do Cabral in Brazil. These are medium-sized plants, you can expect between 1.5"-2" in diameter.

Care for this carnivorous plant is simple. I recommend using a mix of 1:1 long fiber sphagnum moss to perlite, using the tray method to keep the substrate constantly wet with water under 50 PPM TDS. I use a 14 hour photoperiod at about 250 PPFD, but you can use a natural photoperiod or anywhere from 10-16 hours. I normally spray the leaves with 1,000-2,500PPM MaxSea fertilizer weekly, or as often as I remember.

Please note this plant will ship potted via USPS Priority Mail. Heat packs are not automatically included. I offer a 72 and 96 hour heat pack as additions. Please make sure to add one of these options before completing your purchase to be eligible for live arrival guarantee if your day time temperatures are below 45°F.
