Drosera capensis 'Albino'
Native to the Cape region of South Africa (hence, the name), this hardy and highly adaptable sundew is a terrestrial species often grows in seepages or sandy, nutrient-poor soils kept consistently moist. It forms elegant rosettes of long, dew-covered leaves and bears tall stalks of numerous pink flowers. It's truly one of the easiest and most rewarding carnivorous plants to grow. This plant is the registered cultivar, 'Albino', named for the lack anthocyanin production (red pigment).
Care for this carnivorous plant is simple. I recommend using a mix of 1:1 peat to perlite, using the tray method to keep the substrate constantly wet with water under 50 PPM TDS. I use a 14 hour photoperiod at about 250 PPFD, but you can use a natural photoperiod or anywhere from 10-16 hours. I normally spray the leaves with 1,000-2,500PPM MaxSea fertilizer weekly, or as often as I remember.
Please note this plant will ship potted via USPS Priority Mail. Heat packs are not automatically included. I offer a 72 and 96 hour heat pack as additions. Please make sure to add one of these options before completing your purchase to be eligible for live arrival guarantee if your day time temperatures are below 45°F. You will receive a plant that is at least 1.5-2" in diameter.
