Native to the Western Cape of South Africa, with a similar but more restricted range to Drosera capensis, this compact terrestrial sundew inhabits sandy, seasonally wet soils and rocky seeps. It forms neat, flat rosettes of green to deep red leaves coated in glistening mucilage and produces tall scapes of soft pink to lavender flowers, remaining attractive year-round under bright light. Over time it forms a pile of dead leaves under the newest growth to give it a towering look.

Seeds from the Drosera genus are extremely small, ranging between 0.25 and 3mm. Germination can take anywhere from 7-180 days, but generally occur within the first two weeks under optimal conditions. Cold stratification is not needed. I recommend sowing on a mix of washed peat moss and keep them in high humidity until they sprout.

This offer includes a packet of 25+ seeds per order. Seeds are wrapped in an origami paper envelope and put into a small plastic baggie. Please be careful when opening the packets as the seeds are extremely small (see photo(s)) Seeds are shipped in a padded, tracked envelope without a heat pack. I do not offer untracked shipping for seeds at this time.
