Endemic to the Western Cape of South Africa, this compact terrestrial sundew grows in seasonally wet, sandy soils and rocky seeps. It forms neat, flat rosettes of bright green to deep red leaves covered in glistening mucilage and produces tall scapes of delicate pink flowers. It's an easy plant to grow and very beginner friendly. This form is from near the Palmiet River, South Africa, about 40 km southeast of Cape Town. This form grows less wide than other forms, makes a tighter rosette, and its leaves are more widely cuneate than some other forms. It grows to about 1.25" at full size.

Care for this carnivorous plant is simple. I recommend using a mix of 1:1 peat moss to perlite, using the tray method to keep the substrate constantly wet with water under 50 PPM TDS. I use a 14 hour photoperiod at about 250 PPFD, but you can use a natural photoperiod or anywhere from 10-16 hours. I normally spray the leaves with 1,000-2,500PPM MaxSea fertilizer weekly, or as often as I remember.

As always, plants can look different with different amounts of light. The plants you receive may be a slightly different color than what is shown, either more colorful or more green depending on a variety of factors. Plants are between 0.5-1" in size. Please note this plant will ship potted via USPS Priority Mail. Heat packs are not automatically included. I offer a 72 and 96 hour heat pack as additions. Please make sure to add one of these options before completing your purchase to be eligible for live arrival guarantee if your day time temperatures are below 45°F.
